Nearly 1,000 art lovers will gather in the former home of the Cleveland Play House on Saturday, April 5th for ArtCares 2014, the annual auction and party to benefit the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland. ArtCares 2014 is being presented through the generosity of AIDS Healthcare Foundation and Toby Devan Lewis with support from Consolidated Graphics Group.
ArtCares is the signature fund-raiser for the AIDS Taskforce, which serves individuals and families infected, affected and at-risk for HIV/AIDS. Proceeds help provide services such as counseling and case management, educational programs for adults and youth at risk, housing, public policy and advocacy and a food pantry that provides much-needed help for a community in which illness often coincides with poverty.
This year, the AIDS Taskforce will present their ArtCares Icon award to four women who have been unwavering and generous supporters of ArtCares and the AIDS Taskforce: Representative Nickie Antonio, Dr. Kristin Englund, Helen Forbes Fields, and Beth Zone.
The centerpiece of ArtCares remains the auction of art generously donated by professional artists living in, or with connections to, Northeast Ohio, as well as artwork from students and faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Art, one of the founding partners in establishing ArtCares. This year will again feature local artist and curator, Kristin Rogers, as curator of the event.
This year’s party features entertainment by a fun jazz band followed by DJ Saint.
The event begins at 7:00 p.m.; tickets are $100 per person. Host Committee sponsorship and Corporate Partnerships are available. Tickets and more information are available by calling the Taskforce at 216-357-3131, extension 247, or by visiting: http://bit.ly/ArtCares2014
