ANNUAL ART AUCTION and BENEFIT

Announcing ArtCares Jr.

A special exhibition and auction featuring the work of young artists.

Most young people enjoy creative activities: writing, drawing and designing are ways to express who they are, how they feel, and their relationship to the world around them. Creative activities provide opportunities to examine real-life issues and problems – including HIV and AIDS and the stigma attached to it. Art is often a major way children communicate.

ArtCares Jr. is an opportunity for young artists between the ages of 3 and 14 to show off their talents and skills while offering their support for those infected, affected and at-risk for HIV/AIDS. ArtCares Jr. is being presented in conjunction with the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland’s signature fundraiser – ArtCares.

Young artists are given a blank canvas to use as they choose. Any kind of art is accepted – paintings, watercolor, pen and ink, pastel or any other medium they chose to work in. Their art will be displayed at the 78th Street Studios popular ‘Third Friday’ on Friday, February 21, 2014, at a special reception from 5-9pm. Works will be auctioned off in a silent auction to help raise funds for the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland.  ArtCares Jr. 2014 is chaired by Christina Eagleeye-Wilson.

For more information, or to learn how to participate, contact Rebecca Murray-Strong at 216-621-0766, extension 247, or rstrong@clevelandtaskforce.org.  To download a submission form, please click here: 2014 ArtCares Jr. Submission Form

As we say goodbye to 2013, the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland ends their 30th anniversary of providing services to our community.  For over 10 of those years, ArtCares, our signature fundraising event, has ensured that we have been able to continue providing those services.  As you know, ArtCares is one of our region’s most popular art benefits, and our continued success is made possible by the continued kindness put forth by you–our thoughtful community of donating artists.  If you’ve donated to ArtCares in previous years, I hope you will continue on with us, and if you are new to the event, welcome aboard.

So here it is: the big ask!

We are once again looking to the generous hearts in the art community to donate works for our auction. Your kind contribution to our cause makes all the difference, and we are deeply thankful for that generosity.

We are currently accepting donations of artworks in all mediums.  Details for submitting are included in the accompanying submission form.

In addition to benefiting the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland and our leadership in prevention, education, supportive services and advocacy, your participation and donation of artwork will give you a complimentary ticket to the gala event on April 5, 2014 (you may purchase a ticket for a guest for $50). Last year, attendance surpassed 900 guests, and this year we expect even more.

Mark your calendars:
