Dancin’ takes to the Streets for 28th year

Attendance still free of charge,
Taskforce honors longtime supporter, John Katsaros.

Cleveland, Ohio –
One of Cleveland’s biggest LGBT events raising money and awareness for the AIDS Taskforce and the HIV/AIDS community – Dancin’ in the Streets – returns to the Clifton Boulevard neighborhood for one more year on Sunday, July 29, 2012. This year the Taskforce will also honor longtime Dancin’ supporter and community leader, John Katsaros – one of the most philanthropic business owners in the Cleveland LGBT community.

Dancin’ is presented this year with the generous support of SKYY Vodka and FLEX Spas and is supported through partnerships with Gay Games Cleveland, Cleveland Pride and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

With great success, the per-person ticket charge was eliminated last year and instead a suggested donation was requested at the gate. This allowed the Taskforce to have one of their most successful years ever at this location – raising more than $20,000 – with many people giving amounts well beyond the suggested $10 donation. Once again, the event will be free of charge, with a suggested donation – 100% of which goes to direct client services at the AIDS Taskforce – at the gate.

A line up of four amazing local, regional and national DJ’s will entertain the crowd and keep everyone on their feet. DJ Steven Oliveri of The Pines in Fire Island, NY will make a return appearance this year along with DJ Fierce Tease, Saint and DJ m.obie. Dancin’ will also feature new food vendors – including some of Cleveland’s best known food trucks – as well as other vendors and community organizations.

The agency is asking the community to show their support on July 29 by donating as generously as they can at the event gates. No tickets are needed and no one will be turned away. A minimum donation of $10 is requested – but individuals are encouraged to donate more if they can, or something less if they can’t. Every donation, no matter how great or small, is tremendously welcomed and appreciated.

Save time on the day of Dancin’! Get your drink tickets in advance by clicking here.

All contributions at the gates, as well as all outdoor beer, wine and liquor sales, go directly to AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland and provides crucial support to this important community organization.

The event kicks off at 3 pm on Clifton Boulevard between West 116 and West 117 Streets and runs until 11 pm. All donations made at the gate and through outdoor beer, wine and liquor sales are 100% directly contributed to the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland.
